| Excellence
in Community Award
Do you know a Canadian VA who deserves to be
recognized for their community involvement?
Each
year in December, we will be recognizing one special Canadian
Virtual Assistant who signifies the meaning of community. This
individual will receive the Excellence in Community Award for
their contribution to building community in Canada.
This award is not given based on the individual business success
of the Virtual Assistant, but their contributions to the Canadian
VA community. The recipient of this award may be in business for
one year or ten years; this is not a criteria.

Who can be nominated for
the Excellence in Community award?
Anyone can be nominated for the Excellence in Community award.
This award is not based on how many years you’ve been in
business, how successful your business practice is or which organization
you belong to. This award is given to a special Canadian VA who
has contributed and is actively involved in the VA community.
Individuals who believe in supporting, sharing and have shown
excellence in their Canadian VA community.
Individuals are recognized for their:
- Participation in the VA community
The recipient of this award will be an active participant in
CVAN and/or other VA organizations, understanding that building
community not only supports the individual VA but the VA profession
as a whole.
- Spirit of giving
Contributing to the VA profession by volunteering time and expertise
in various areas shows outstanding commitment to the profession
and should be acknowledged. In most cases Virtual Assistant
organizations are volunteer-driven and these volunteers are
essential for the continued success of these organizations.
The recipient of this award will be an active volunteer for
one or more VA specific organizations.
- Commitment to supporting other VA’s
Supporting other VA’s is an extremely important element
to this award and can be displayed in a variety of actions.
This may include but not limited to, mentoring, coaching, participating
in answering questions in forums or egroups, being an active
participant in CVAN success circles and teleclasses, being a
seminar/teleclass leader, etc. The recipient of this award is
willing to share their experiences with other VA’s and
support them in achieving success.
- Promoting of the VA profession
In order for the VA profession to maintain longevity and continued
success, we all must participate in promoting the profession.
This could be offering seminars or workshops outside of the
VA industry, being a guest speaker at VA training schools, writing
articles, promoting organizations on your site, being available
to answer questions to someone who is interested in joining
the profession, etc.
In recognition
of their dedication recipients of the Award will receive:
- The Excellence in Community Award that you can proudly display
in your office or home. It will include the name of the award
and the recipient’s name.
